About Ian
Ian began his professional career as a Marine Corps Officer, serving on active duty and in the reserves, including deployment to Afghanistan and leadership in a base Emergency Operations Center. These experiences built his expertise in crisis leadership, operational planning, risk mitigation, and interagency coordination.
He spent a decade as a police officer in specialized units, earning recognition for lifesaving actions and developing skills in threat assessment, protective security, and incident response. Internationally, Ian serves as a Security Manager with a Christian NGO, leading security planning, and risk management for staff in complex environments, including disaster and active conflict zones.
In addition to his professional work, Ian actively serves on and leads his local church’s security team, bringing practical experience and a servant-leadership mindset to volunteer ministry. As a committed Christian, he integrates a biblical perspective into his training, equipping church leaders and volunteers to respond to emergencies with wisdom, preparedness, and a ministry-focused approach.
Ian holds a Master of Science in Leadership with an emphasis in Homeland Security and Emergency Management, combining academic knowledge with operational experience to provide actionable guidance. His leadership philosophy emphasizes servant leadership, operational excellence, and proactive preparedness, ensuring the organizations he serves are equipped to prevent, respond to, and recover from emergencies.
