This 1-hour Church Security Team Training provides practical, mission-focused instruction for church safety team members. This fast moving and engaging course features short scenario based lessons covering routine security operations, threat recognition, decision-making under stress, and appropriate responses to non-violent and violent incidents. Participants will complete quizzes throughout the training, and participants who successfully complete the course receive a training certificate.

- Lesson 3 – Situational Awareness: Cooper’s Color Codes and other Practical methods for maintaining situational awareness
- Lesson 4 – Identifying Threats: Recognizing behavioral and environmental warning signs
- Lesson 5 – Decision Making: Using the OODA Loop method for Making sound decisions under stress
- Lesson 6 – Mission-Focused Actions: Aligning security actions with the church’s mission
- Lesson 7 – Navigating Those Under the Influence: recognizing and safely engaging impaired or disruptive individuals
- Lesson 8 – Basic Threat Interdiction: Using the OHNO method for early intervention
- Lesson 9 – Property Crimes: Preventing and responding to theft and vandalism
- Lesson 10 – Team Tactics: Using the contact and cover method
- Lesson 11 – De-Escalation Tactics: Practical steps for creating time, space, and options
- Lesson 12 – Nonviolent Disturbances: Managing disruptions while protecting worship
- Lesson 13 – Violent Disturbances: Responding to active violence in the church
- Lesson 14 – Active Shooter: Priorities and actions during an active shooter event
- Lesson 15 – Evacuations: Safely moving people out of harm’s way
